Yes, I would scuff the brass with a scouring pad or 400 grit sandpaper to help the paint adhere properly. A primer over the scuffed brass would also help.

It has a heat resistance of 300F continuously. If you don’t feel that it would withstand that temperature, you could opt for #16-1203 black which goes up to 1200F.

It depends on how many cans. The NFPA publishes a guidebook that explains the requirements, please contact your local fire department for a recommendation. Aerosol cans should not be warehoused in subfreezing temperatures or exposed to temperatures above 120F.

MRO does not need a primer underneath for corrosion resistance. MRO is a direct metal product. However, if you would like the “maximum†corrosion resistance, should use the 620-1431 MRO Gray Primer underneath the MRO paint.

Yes, it would work (no primer necessary if you’re scuffing the ceramic coating). That said, this paint won’t be as hard and scratch resistant as a 2 component epoxy or urethane but those are rather expensive. Kind of a tradeoff you could say.

The 620-1436 should not need a clear coat. The 620-1436 is an enamel spray paint. If you would like to clear coat the 620-1436, would recommend the EN-70 which is also an enamel. Please be very careful in applying the clear coat make sure that you have allowed several days for curing before clear coating so the 620-1436 does not wrinkle. Again, you should not have to clear coat the 620-1436.

If the powder coating is chipping away, it is recommended that all the paint should be sanded away, as coating over it will not improve its adhesion to the metal. For the rust, you can either use Seymour’s rust converter SKU:16-45 or sand the areas away until bare metal is exposed. We would also recommend using a self-etching primer in either gray (SKU:20-1681) or black (SKU:20-1682) on all surfaces. Once this coating is dry, you can then apply the paint you want.
